Abstract

The objective of this article is to present the institutional participation mechanism in the field of environmental protection aimed at groundwater during the implementation of the underground infrastructure work on line three of the Guadalajara electric train ( Jalisco, Mexico). For this purpose, a case study is used, aided by the hypothetical deductive analysis based on the study of technical documents and specialized literature. The implications and correlations between the transformation of the urban space and the introduction of transport-oriented infrastructure in the electric train modality are explained, as well as the effects on these and the actions to prevent and mitigate impacts. The main limitation is that only the initiation and approval phase of the works is addressed. This text provides an analysis approach to mobility and transportation problems, implementation of underground infrastructure and urban hydrogeology.
