Abstract

The essay proposes a complementary and alternative reading of the political act par excellence of contemporary democracy: the electoral process. It involves observing beyond mere pro- cedure of formal renewal of the political power to highlight social factors come into play in the electoral processes during the campaign and impacting the formation of the social order to establish itself as a reflective time of society, reinterpretation of political experience and configuration of new horizons.
