Abstract

To analyze trends in socioecological resilience research, an exploratory systematic review of scientific articles was conducted through a search of academic databases, qualitative analysis, and co-occurrence analysis in ATLAS.ti. A greater number of recent publications on socioecological resilience were found from a social perspective; these include water and agricultural systems, as well as topics such as governance and landscape. A limitation of the reviewed articles is the limited articulation between interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches, while one of their strengths is the design of adaptation strategies based on key factors such as cooperation. The value of the research lies in the integration of a systematic review and co-occurrence analysis to identify emerging patterns in studies on socioecological resilience. The conclusion is that socioecological resilience has been addressed with a social emphasis, and the adoption of integrative approaches and greater thematic and geographical coverage is suggested.
