Historiar fotografías

Abstract

This review seeks to highlight the theoretical and methodological reflection that guides the reflection of the book Historiar Photographs by John Mraz, which focuses on the various relationships that can be established between history and photography. The differences between the use of photography as a source and as an object of study are addressed, which results in two different historiographic operations: making history with photography and elaborating the history of photography. In the same way, the relationship between the history of photography and that of art is addressed, in connection with social and cultural history.
